The cabin air filter cleans the air entering your vehicle's interior. A dirty filter reduces HVAC performance and air quality inside the cabin.

On most vehicles, the cabin air filter is located behind the glove box, under the dashboard on the passenger side, or under the hood near the base of the windshield. Consult your owner's manual for the exact location.
Open the glove box. Squeeze the sides inward to clear the stop tabs and allow the box to drop down fully. This exposes the cabin air filter housing cover.
Unclip or slide out the filter housing cover. Pull out the old filter — note its orientation. The old filter may contain a surprising amount of debris, dust, pollen, and sometimes leaves or insects.
Slide the new filter in with the correct airflow direction (arrows on the filter should point toward the cabin). Reinstall the housing cover and clip it securely.
Push the glove box back up and close it. Run your HVAC system to confirm improved airflow. A new cabin filter typically noticeably improves air output volume.
